Rapture May 21, 2011

How many people out there are glad that the rapture didn't happen? Well guess what, it didn't happen. But it sure did make some ruckus, did it?! Harold Camping, fundamentalist minister of age 89, have predicted this rapture to happen on May 21, 2011 at 6:00 PM (EST), but when Sunday came along, he just became a laughing stock of the town, ONCE AGAIN. But with all the commotion going on with natural disasters through out the world and of course, we are still counting down on the 2012 theories, aren't we? So this rapture story is probably most "accurate" prediction this minister could've made.

Harold Camping had his "Mystical" prediction in 1994, also. Well, two strikes Mr. Camping. But with your age, I don't know if you are going to be able to make another prediction. But let's be aware, what made him make these predictions. Is it just pure study of the Bible and calculation? Was it because all the natural disaster and signs of disaster? Or was it just his guts and feeling? Something made this man feel that the rapture is coming soon. Man shall never know the exact date of the rapture or the apocalypse but we do sure believe that one day all human being will be destroyed by higher force or some might call it "Authority".

Now, let's think about what we have done when we heard about the rapture and it's promising of destruction? Did we not believe him just like all the people whom laughed at Noah for building his Ark and regret the fact that we didn't believe him? Did we ignorantly got together, laughed, and looked to satisfy our thirst and lust? Did we made peace within ourselves so that we wouldn't be judged harshly in front of the pearly gates? Or did we make a listings of regrets and buried ourselves in a burden? Whatever the reason could be, are we ever gonna be ready for this rapture?

That day, in my opinion, only things that gotten big by this prediction were headlines for media and Craig's list listings of sales to leave everything behind when rapture comes. Maybe someone thought, "Hey, it would be funny", but some might thought "I don't need all these, when rapture comes". Now, if you don't see the difference in those two quotes, I bless you for that you will have a hard life. First quote is someone's ignorance who can't see nothing but seeing life as a big joke, where second quote has the self-realization and actualization of human being and it's worry for needs, which is nothing. Now, Im not saying the second quote is right answer. No, I am not saying that at all. But this prediction have gave me the reason to really take a look at myself.

I don't want to blame Mr. Camping for making his prediction. At least, no one committed suicide like the whole Jim Jones incident. I do want to know what made him make these predictions. I want to know how he calculated these dates and times and I do want to know what made him so confident to say this over the radio air so people can judge him. What a bravery, I would even say to Mr. Camping. Well, I will end this blog by saying thank you Mr. Camping for many reasons.
