All Eyez on Me(2017): Movie Review

If you know me, you know Im a big Pac fan. I didn't grow up with Pac's music, but I was introduced and discovered to Pac's music and his lyrical style. As an immigrant, my first introduction to Tupac was when "Change" hit the local air wave when I lived in La Palma, CA and even though I couldn't understand the a single word, I loved it. Then, I started to learn enligh and my sister asked my mom to get her the Tupac and Outlaws and their single was "Baby don't cry". That became a gateway where I started learning about Tupac and his music and needless to say, he is one of the greatest.

Now, to the movie, All Eyez on Me. All Eyez on me is about the rapper Tupac Amaru Shakur, and his life. Now, it's a biography so i am not going to tell you everything that happens but talk about the say the film was made.

Now, the movie was directed by Benny Boom, and if you never heard of Benny Boom, Benny is well known Music Video director working with big names such as 50 cents, lil wayne, LL Cool J, P.Diddy, and etc., and the shots were great. My issue with this movie is probably the screen play; it's too fast.

Now, Tupac went through alot in his 25 years and I get it's alot to cover....but it's too much. I think the direction was bad. If they focused on the idea of his music career, they should've done that. if they wanted to create a movie about his involvement in community and his impact, they should've done that but trying to make a film about everything about Tupac made a film very boring and dull. Almost too factual like you are watching documentary about a previous great figure on history channel.

Now, if you are reading this, you may think that..well it is a documentary and a bio pic. The thing is, I enjoyed Tupac Resurrection and that was actual documentary and biopic, but the way it was set up and lead, it was great. All Eyez on me was too fast like they had too much to cover in too little of time. I would loved just seeing tupacs music career focused and add sprinkle of his life into it. Or just had the same people who filmed NWA film Tupac's biopic because Straight outta compton was great movie as well.

So overall...movie sucked. Wait until it comes out on DVD.
