Medicare...WHAT MEDICARE?
US has the top technology and skills to provide the best health care system in the world, but how come we have more people dying in our country then others? US's health care system is a business that suits the capitalistic idea of the country. From outside in, it seems that US provide great health system and opportunity but if you live in US, you can tell that it's all smoking mirrors made by marketing gurus. The insurance system is a joke that takes money away from poor people. When people get hurt and need to go to hospital for some surgeries and something big, it always seems like that's the ONLY is not covered by your insurance. I am an immigrant from South Korea and yes, we did not have universal medicare, but getting help and seeing doctors wasn't going to make you eat cup of noodles for a whole year. It's crazy but if you don't have insurance, these doctors will just let you die on the street and I actually meant that. I do not know how many people seem the documentary done by Michael Moore call "Sicko" which covers the US health care system, but if you have not, you need to watch it. Even though we have freedom of speech, some reason, some topics are almost forbidden to speak of; like health care. It's funny how we have all these medicines and that seems like it can make human being all fine and great....but how are people getting more sicker than sicker every year? I do not have proof to back this next statement, but I believe these people are actually making us more sick and poisoning us. I know it's ridiculous to say so, but what if...bare with me...what if, the idea of capitalism takes over the health system and they are getting people sick or addicted to these medicines? To put them in this loop where these medicines actually make people sick and make them feel good at the same time. I don't have any proof back it up but then again, how many Americans are taking medications but still sick as hell. We have all these technology and skills but they can not cure the cause? Chris Rock (Comedian) said it the best; "These people aren't curing diseases because there is no money in curing diseases, but medication". Yeah, he may not be the most knowledgeable person to use as an example, but I believe he made a valid point. How many people buys Nyquil which cost damn near $10 per bottle and we have about 314 million people in US, so that adds up pretty fast and pretty good. How about HMO program started by president Richard Nixon? HMO program might be cheaper but they are keeping doctors to keep their mouth about serious diseases they finds in their patients. Like in the movie "John Q"; even though his doctors knew his kid had abnormal heart size, they were advice to keep their mouth shut and they get a fat bonus from the government for it. In England, when doctors reduces number of smokers, they get a bonus. THAT IS WHAT THE BONUSES ARE FOR. You are suppose to praise people for doing good, rather than giving them bonuses to play along. US medicare really need to be fixed, people deserve to live. Hospital should not be about money, it should be about helping people.
