Too many gadgets?

Welcome to 21st century, where the generation is known as Internet Generation and we are still struggling with our recent recession. However, it seems that our technology usage have increased significantly and growing really fast; faster than transition between Gameboy to Gameboy Slim (Sorry, youngsters. You probably don't know what I'm talking about). But with all these development on our consumer electronic use, have our life became more simpler? By now, we are all use to sending E Mails rather than hand written mails, texting that basically is AIM or chatting, and Facebook to stalk your ex (Like you never looked up your ex on Facebook). What about our hardware rather than the programs we use? When you own a iPhone or a smartphone, you basically have all the media solution in your one device; from music player to internet usage, document creator, e mailing, chatting, reading news, watching tv, and etc. smartphone became the main solution for our media fix. But I do think that now that I have Smartphone, Tablet, Laptop and PSP, is this too many gadgets? My normal days, I have my phone on a stand by, playing game or Pandora on my tablet and web surfing on my Laptop. Now I look like a multitasking office person who has so much important things to do but that is really not the case. Yes, I can do without my Tablet but I just love having the tablet in my hands. I, of course, need my phone. My laptop is for document creating and sending e mails and any other office use. But with all these gadgets, did our life became simpler? I believe our life became faster but not significantly simpler. Now, it seems that i have million things to do, but it's not the most important things to do. I have to e mail my friend, check Facebook, download movies and tv shows, read on the news whats going on, listen to music, check out the new video on youtube that people are talking about, go to ebay and buy something, STOP!!!. All these things are easy to do but it's time wasting things. Life isn't simpler because these gadgets, it's became faster. It's like drive through for the restaurant, ask the workers there, it didn't make it simpler, it made it faster. It's hard for me to give up these gadgets because im a gadget junkie and i am a man. But really, these are unnecessary items. It seems that we have more things to do because these gadgets. Tasks you handle with you mobile is probably nothing really important. If it was; you would be parked in your office chair, infront of desktop or computer you trust (because, some computers we just don't trust), with printer connection to it and possibly a fax machine close by you to maximize your work in minimal time possible. I am not going to lie to you and say I am not addicted to my smartphone, because I am. Every single minute I have, I look at my phone for new information or updates, but it might be better to go back to the old days; turn off the electronics and pick up the paper version to slow things down a little bit. I sure you, your ADD will go away.
