5 Things you need in Seattle

Emerald City or also known as Evergreen State; Washington state has been known as the Northwest and we are mostly related to the fact that it rains allot in the state, which is true. About 8 months out of 12, it will most likely rain but the thing is that we don't mind it. Actually, we are proud of the fact that it rains. Why? because there is no place beautiful like Seattle during the summer. We sacrifice 8 months under the grey clouded sky that has great chance of raining, when summer come, we enjoy every minute of it and we actually know how to appreciate summer sun. But we can never hide away from the fact that....well....it rains lot in Seattle and it does get chilly and it does get wet. But we are use to it. We are like British in Seattle, if you have an umbrella, you are most likely a tourist where Seattlites or Washingtonians are most likely enjoying the rain in their hoodie with headphones in their ear, listening to Nirvana's "Smells like teen spirit".  But, do prepare yourself if you are thinking about visiting or more like if you are thinking about moving here. Here are 5 things you will need in Seattle.

1. Hoodie: Seattle rains allot. Not like So. Cal. where you might get a chance of rain in the middle of sunny day, we are more likely to get a chance of sun break during the rainy day. So, just to prepare yourself to cover up in any time or case, get yourself a hoodie. Hoodie or hooded sweats are one of the most essential gear you will need in Seattle. Go with grey if you are worrying about color, we don't really get flash in Seattle.

2. 4x4: This is my for my friend who moved up from Miami; You really should think about getting a 4x4 before you think about getting a cutlass. I'm not saying you don't know how to drive, even greatest driver will end up running in to a slippery situation in Seattle. Plus, it does snow during winter time. Why would you chance it? Plus, Washingtonians are outdoor creatures where we enjoy camping and 4x4 is perfect for it.

3. GPS: Washington is a beautiful place that offers many dynamic aspects. City, we got that. Outdoors, we got that. Country side, we got that. Wine country, we got that. Harbors, we got that. Rich neighborhoods, we got that. Bridges, we got that. Waterfalls, we got that. National parks, we got that. Outlet mall, we got that. But all these stuffs aren't in one convenient location, it's spread out and through out west, east, north, south of the state. But Seattle is not Cali. or any southern states where you can see everything from horizon, you will need to turn, swerve, stop, u-turn, and follow the roundabout to get to some of these places. And all the "One Way" street in Seattle isn't so friendly either(trust me, I done it several times). GPS, it will help.

4. Portable Water bottle/ Tumbler: We love Coffee. Seattle without coffee will be a sad and very sleepy city. We wake up in grey sky and we got to sleep in sounds of rain drops, we need this. Coffee in the morning in essential and kind of a tool that push us or making us feel better about going to work 6 in the morning. But cups sucks, hate stopping by somewhere because you are already late, and what choice do you have? Get your self a tumbler for hot liquid and portable water bottles for working out and hiking times. Trust me, you will thank me in the morning.

LAST BUT DEFINITELY NOT LEAST!!!

5. North face jacket: Southern states will never understand it, big cities without outdoor activities won't understand, this is a NORTHWEST THANG!!! We love North face jackets, it's warm, comfy, stylish, and .......it's really warm. They aren't cheap, I'm going to through that out there. It's not like I can buy North face jacket every time I feel like it but it's good to own 1 or 2 thing of North face jackets if you are leaving in Northwest. You will not regret it.

So, there you go my outer state friends, you should really look in to purchasing these items if you are thinking of moving to Northwest or Seattle. These might be items but these are Northwest items that all of us own and have. It's almost a cultural thing. Trust me, you will not find a person in L.A wearing North Face jacket with hoodie while drinking hot coffee from their tumbler driving a 4x4. But doesn't that sounds warm? ha ha Welcome to Seattle and that was my list of 5 things you need in Seattle.
